Whether you are a beginner or an experienced stitcher you are sure to enjoy this workshop in which you will learn how to make a pretty and useful little drawstring bag. Perfect for your own treasures or as a gift for a friend.

Choose from two designs - one made from fashion fabric with a butterfly applique (pictured LEFT) and one with wool felt applique flowers (pictured RIGHT). Both bags are fully lined.

Sew by hand, by machine or both. Sewing machines are available for your use but you may prefer to bring your own.

Ticket cost includes all materials and morning tea. All you need on the day is your lunch and a pair of sharp scissors.

Numbers are limited so please book early.

Please note that children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult.

About Barbara Mellor

After a successful career as a home economics teacher Barbara retired to Tasmania and indulged her love for beautiful textiles.

She likes to use Japanese textiles in traditional quilts but has in more recent times moved on to art quilting.

Barbara has won numerous awards at the local, state and national level and her work has been featured in Australian textiles magazines.

She teaches textiles and quilting workshops throughout Tasmania. She is also a qualified judge and appraiser of quilts.

She currently organises the Tasmanian Art Quilt Prize in Hobart and Island Quilts in Launceston.

Barbara was a finalist in the Bay of Fires Art Prize in 2018.
