COCKATOO ISLAND

TOUR RUNS FROM 9.30PM UNTIL 11PM.

The Sixth Sense. Paranormal Activity. The Conjuring. Ghosts continue to captivate the public imagination, satisfying our primeval desire for a good scare… but the supernatural isn’t just the stuff of Hollywood.

From unconfirmed sightings of ghastly apparitions to dread-inducing felt experiences, Cockatoo Island has a history of paranormal occurrences that stretches back more than a century.

Created in consultation with one of Australia’s most acclaimed mediums, Cockatoo Island Ghostyard – A paranormal tour is an adults-only journey into the dark heart of this one-time convict penal establishment and reformatory school.

To expose the unseen (and possibly malevolent) forces living on the island, the tour guide has been equipped with a K-II EMF reader – a device used in paranormal detection.

As you explore buildings rarely open to the public, they will help you make sense of the inexplicable by recounting some of the island’s more gruesome tales, including grisly murders, botched prison escapes and incidents of gang violence.

Ghostyard Glamping Experience (1 to 2 people)

Looking to truly test your fear threshold? Then book a Ghostyard Glamping Experience – after the tour, you’ll stay the night at the island’s urban campground. No need to bring or pitch a tent – we take care of that, so you can remain on high alert for spectral beings. Pleasant dreams, campers!
