COCKATOO ISLAND

To celebrate 2020 NSW Seniors Festival, the Harbour Trust will run accessible Convict Precinct tours of Cockatoo Island between 12 and 22 February.

TOUR DETAILS

Presented in the Convict Precinct, our knowledgeable guide will take you through the layered history of this one-time convict penal establishment, reformatory school and shipbuilding yard. Following the tour, there will be an opportunity for exploration of the upper island for those who are able, at their own pace.

These tours are ideal for all seniors interested in an immersive tour of our UNESCO world-heritage listed island. Ticketholders who are mobility impaired are able to purchase a ‘mobility impaired ticket’ for transportation by buggy to the upper island.

Meeting Point:  The tour will start outside the Mess Hall. If you have a mobility impaired ticket you will meet the guide outisde the Visitors Centre 15 minutes before the tour starts to arrange transport to the Mess Hall in the buggy

Times: 10.30am & 12.00pm

Cost: $12

Duration: 60 mins

Tour maximum: 18 people per tour. 3 tickets are reserved for those who are mobility impaired and the remaining are available for those able to walk to the upper island.
