Starship Sydney Infomation:
WHERE WILL I BOARD THE BOAT?
Starship Sydney departs from King Street Wharf 4, Darling Harbour
WHAT TIME SHOULD I BE AT THE WHARF?
Arrive by 6:00pm at the latest. Darling Harbour will be very busy and security is at all entrances so expect delays
Boarding from 6.30pm. Boat will depart at approximately 7:00pm as we need to make our way into our parade
position
WHAT WILL HAPPEN ON BOARD DURING THE EVENING?
The vessel will depart King Street Wharf 4 and move east towards the bridge where we will be allocated a position in the Harbour of Light Parade. Once in the parade, the vessel will cruise continuously until the midnight fireworks.
IS THERE ALLOCATED SEATING?
The vessels are cocktail menus and seating is NOT allocated.
From past experience, we see that guests would rather be up and outside enjoying the harbour than seated permanently at tables. For this reason, the menu is a cocktail menu with food stations so that guests can enjoy the food from whichever point they are on board and also at their own leisure.
We do have ample seating on board both vessels!

WILL WE BE ABLE TO DANCE?
Yes, we have DJ's on board both vessels to ensure you get the chance to dance the night away should you be in the mood! Starship Sydney will have a band
WILL IT BE COLD?
As New year’s eve in Sydney is during our summer, generally the weather is quite warm but as we cannot predict the
weather, we always suggest that you do bring a jacket for when you are on the outer decks and when you disembark.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
There is no stipulation on dress but just smart casual or dressy is fine – no thongs, please!
Ladies – wear comfortable shoes.
Men – dress to impress but not to formal – jackets not required
WHAT HAPPENS IF THE FIREWORKS ARE CANCELLED DUE TO UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES?
The cruises will still go ahead regardless of the weather. Both vessels offer such a stable passage in the harbour that the weather rarely affects our cruises.
WHAT IS INCLUDED?
Cruise Time. Boarding 6:30pm – 1am.
Menu: Cocktail menu with food stations offering a variety of foods
Beverages: Beer, wine, sparkling & soft drink. Spirits can be purchased at the bar.
Alcohol: Bar will close for alcohol service 15 - 20 minutes prior to disembarkation at 1am
DJ /Band: Playing from boarding untill finish
WHAT TIME ARE THE FIREWORKS?
Fireworks are scheduled at 9pm and Midnight.
WHAT WILL MY VIEW BE LIKE FOR THE FIREWORKS?
Starship Sydney & Aqua have surrounding 3-metre high glass on all levels except for the top deck so there are views from each level.
The capacity of the top decks is limited and controlled. These decks can be closed off once at capacity 20 minutes prior to the display. If you are unable to access here there are plenty more viewing spots throughout the boat.
WHERE WILL THE BOATS BE LOCATED FOR THE FIREWORKS?
All charter boats will be located on the eastern side of the bridge and have great views of the Harbour Bridge and city
fireworks at 12am.
The position of the boats for the 9pm fireworks is not set as it depends on our location at that time in the Harbour of Light Parade.
WILL I GET SEASICK?
Generally no, as both vessels offer such a stable passage that you will not really feel any movement on board. We do
suggest however if you or any of your party is prone to seasickness to bring with you some precautions such as seasick tables as we cannot distribute any medications including headache tablets to any passenger on board!
IS IT SAFE?
Yes, both vessels are extremely safe and go through rigorous safety audits throughout the year. All of our staff are fully trained in emergency procedures as well as dedicated safety officers on board each vessel.
HOW DO I GET HOME?
It is best to plan your return trip via public transport as many of the city streets are blocked off plus taxis are scarce.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE BOATS?
Starship Sydney is the more modern of the 2 boats and set over 3 levels with a capacity of 750 guests.
Starship Aqua is set over 2 levels and has a capacity of 300.
The best way to decide is to look at the website photo gallery and see which one you prefer.
CAN I GET OFF DURING THE CRUISE?
No passengers are able to disembark onto a water taxi or other craft as both vessels are in a restricted area.
ARE CHILDREN ALLOWED ON BOARD?
Due to the nature of the evening and as both vessels are licensed premises we ask that all guests are over 18 years.
